FYI I am going out of town next week so the Monday evening and Wednesday morning classes will not be happening. Back the next week!
I will be offering a once a month Thursday evening specialty class at the Creamery Building in Hamilton, suite 203. The catalyst behind this idea came as a desire to offer a broader experience into the essence of yoga. Most of us benefit from yoga asana, the physical postures, but there is so much more to explore! One definition of yoga is union, or connection, and we can savor that connection in so many ways! Each class will touch on yoga from a different perspective, offering new ways to practice, an informational handout and resources. The space is small, so please register!
Here’s the line-up:
August 10: Restorative Yoga: Abide in relaxation as we hold poses for up to five minutes. These gentle postures allow the body to release, relax, and restore. $20
September 14: Yoga Nidra: Experience deep, deep relaxation, reaching the theta and delta brain waves that are usually only accessed during sleep. $20
October 12: Balancing Vata: Autumn is the time of change, wind and colder temperatures. There are ways that yoga and ayurveda can help our bodies transition more easily with the changing seasons. Fun, informative class, including movement. $20
November 9 and December 14: ideas are still coming!
Just a reminder! Yoga class at River Street Dance Theater starts tomorrow. 9 – 10:15 a.m. If you have yoga props feel free to bring them! See you there!
I just found out that Simple Yoga is closed this Monday for Memorial Day. It will be a beautiful day to spend outside!
Re:Vision, a one day retreat exploring the body, mind and heart through yoga and intentional creativity is being held Saturday, February 4th at River Street Dance Theater. My partner in this event is Lea Guthrie, an inspirational creativity coach. Our intention is to hold a sacred space for you to delve into gaining a better understanding of your intentions, your body, and your sacredness. You all know that I am a believer of taking the yoga off of the mat and living the yoga in everyday life. This retreat will give you more tools to do that, and a better understanding of how you want to walk your walk, talk your talk. This is important work for all of us to do, we are living in a world of great change and we need to rely on our strengths and share them with all. Find your vision, join us. Sign up by Sunday, January 29 to reserve your space. Call 961-5452, or email Pam at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more info click here.

- Cultivate your authentic self?
Then join us for the opening of this three part series celebrating self-care, creativity and mindful movement!
Play with Creativity
In our culture we make resolutions in order to “fix” our lives, like losing ten pounds, or giving up caffeine, promising ourselves that we will stick to a program, often with no support or idea why we really want to make changes. We are inviting you to call in that which is totally inspiring for you! Lea will lead you through simple techniques that allow you to naturally discover what your beautiful-self eagerly desires for the upcoming year. Plus, you get to play with paint and markers to make your personal visioning board. No artistic experience necessary.
Explore with Yoga
When is the last time you have honored your body? What physical expectations do you hold? We often don’t see what we have, continually desiring more from ourselves without reflecting on what is working. In this retreat you will explore how your body likes to move in order to attain physical integrity, practice being in your body without having to “fix” anything, and learn relaxation techniques to further deepen your bodily intuition.

Summer is a busy time of travel, play, gardening, connecting with friends and family… we try to squeeze so much into our three months of warmth. The onset of Autumn is a great time to slow down, reflect, and bring some consistency into life. What brings you into balance? The practice will start slowly, giving you time to tune in. Feel free to bring a journal if you like to write down your thoughts. We will center, breathe, fire up our core muscles and play with balance poses. Practice will end with short meditation.
